Raider Publishing International – A Publishing Company

Adam Salviani is a novelist-turned-publisher who has experienced a good deal of success. He founded Raider Publishing, a publishing company, in 2005 because of what he perceived as mistreatment of writers and novelists. Salviani was actually a co-founder, along with a group of other writers who just wanted a fairer system of publishing. The firm now has a number of office locations all over the world.

Adam Salviani was just a professional author who had a bad experience with the publishing industry and with the publishing company he was contracted with particularly. The practices of the publishing industry are often deplorable. In Salviani’s case they publishing company took 92% of all royalties. For that kind of money you would expect the publishing company to mount an aggressive marketing campaign, arrange for public events, and pay for them—but none of that occurred. Salviani traveled to seven countries on two continents promoting the book, which sold well, but was forced to do so on his own dime. This experience negatively effected Salviani’s perception of the publishing industry in general. He felt that publishing companies were not doing enough to look after the interests of their writer clients.

It was for this reason that Adam Salviani helped to co-found Raider Publishing. The idea was that this firm would let writer keep over 50% of the royalties.
